The Adventure Log is exclusive to remastered version of Romancing SaGa 3. It is the spiritual successor of the Imperial Log. It is a recollection of events. It contains a summary of the events that have transpired in the game that relate to the main story and seen events. The Adventure Log contains the Prologue, Opening and Adventure Entry options.

It it unknown whether it carries over to New Game+ in recent version.

Prologue[]

When Fate Intercedes

Once every 300 years, the Rise of Morastrum—an event where the dark star blocks out the sun—threatens the very existence of our world. All born in that year are doomed to perish before its end. Whether man or beast, none have a chance at survival. However, there came a time when a sole child did survive. He was entranced by the power of death, using it to conquer the world. He came to be known as the Archfiend, opening the Abyss Gates and unleashing the Sinistrals: the four lords of the Abyss. One day, he simply vanished, and the Sinistrals crushed the world. Another 300 years passed, and again a child defied fate. She did not give in to the powers that controlled the Archfiend, and came to be known as the Matriarch. With the aid of mighty allies, she drove the Sinistrals back into the pit and sealed the gates behind them. It has been two decades since the Rise of Morastrum, and 300-odd years since the appearance of the Matriarch. Humanity now stands at the fulcrum between hope and despair. Will there be another child of destiny? Will they be righteous, evil, or an unfathomable force?

The Approaching Storm

Sinon, a small village located in Southern Loanne, is known for two things: a resilient population and a goblin infestation. Our four young heroes are on their routine patrol to protect the village. A thunderclap immediately after their patrol scatters the goblins to the four winds, and the lightning striking down from the heavens ensures the woods are safe—for now. The four seek shelter from the coming storm in a nearby pub.

A Chance Meeting


Region: Loanne Region
Location: Sinon
The four young settlers of Sinon are taking a break from their patrol as a warrior enjoys the barkeep's company at the bar. A young woman stumbles in and asks for a horse, casting a pall over the establishment. The girl asking for a horse to deliver an urgent message to her brother is none other than Lady Monika, sister to the marquis of Loanne. Against the enigmatic warrior's advice, the settlers decide to assist Monika, in part to repay the debt they owe the marquis. In the midst of the commotion, the barkeep recognizes his customer as a warrior nicknamed the Tornado, and offers him a horse if he would help Lady Monika. Khalid accepts the offer, and suggests that Monika rests to recover her strength.

Onward to the Marquis

The next morning, Monika and her escort party make it past the Sinon woods and head for Mikhail's campsite only to be greeted by a gaggle of monsters blocking their way. The troop must protect the Lady and get her to the marquis of Loanne.

Abyss Gate Rumors


Region: Loanne Region
Location: Sinon Woodlands
Before reaching the campsite of the marquis of Loanne, Sarah remembers a rumor about the revival of the Abyss Gates after seeing an unusual monster. Perhaps the two are related.

Baron Godwin's Coup


Region: Loanne Region
Location: Encampment
Making it to the campsite of the marquis of Loanne, Monika reports that Baron Godwin and the chancellor are planning an insurrection in Mikhail's absence. Mikhail's primary concern, however, is his sister's safety. While he subjugates the rebel army, Mikhail orders his sister to take refuge in Podorui with Count Leonid. He promises the young heroes a reward for escorting his sister there from Sinon. Before they leave, he realizes that one of them is the Tornado, and asks Khalid to stay as he deems four escorts enough. Khalid accepts the offer and elects to help fight the rebel army.

The Journey to Podorui

Location: Path to Podorui
The young heroes of Sinon accept Mikhail's request to escort Lady Monika while he subjugates the rebel army, and head to Podorui where she will be under the protection of Count Leonid.

The Count Awaits


Region: Zweig Region
Location: Podorui
The party safely arrives in Podorui. The next thing to do is pay Count Leonid a visit. Yet the ragtag troupe has no idea where to begin looking.

Audience with Leonid


Region: Zweig Region
Location: Castle Leonid
Count Leonid's castle is beyond the path along the northern cliff of Podorui. The count arranges for Monika and the others to stay until they receive word from the marquis of Loanne. A monster shows them to their rooms. Count Leonid is actually a vampire, and the castle is an extremely dangerous place. Doubts arise about how safe it would be to stay.

An Amusing Proposal

Location: Castle Leonid
Count Leonid suggests exploring the cave north of Podorui to lift their spirits until the marquis of Loanne arrives.

Word from Loanne


Region: Zweig Region
Location: Castle Leonid
After returning to Castle Leonid from their adventures in the cave, the party learns that Mikhail defeated Godwin's army. The count suggests they leave because Loanne would likely be under the marquis' rule once again by the time they arrive.

Crisis Averted


Region: Loanne Region
Location: Loanne Palace
Overcoming the coup d'état and occupation of Loanne by Baron Godwin, Marquis Mikhail and Lady Monika honor everyone who helped them in their efforts with rewards both verbal and material. It is officially over for Baron Godwin.

Everything has Changed

Julian will stay and join a unit to guard Monika. He will probably be difficult to see after being employed by the palace. Things will never be the same.

Pidona-bound Friend

Location: Loanne
Thomas will be studying in Pidona as suggested by his grandfather. He invites Sarah to come along, but she refuses after some thought. She goes to see him off at the port. His company will be missed.

Fare Thee Well Tornado

Location: Loanne
Khalid plans to go north. He invites Sarah, but she refuses after some thought. The warrior leaves for the port, and she sees him off.

Beyond the Mountains

Sarah hears about a small town known as Kyrdlund that lies beyond the mountains north of Zweig.

Sale of Rare Animals


Region: Zweig Region
Location: Zweig
A man n Zweig's pub wishes to buy a rare animal that lives in the forest to the west. For a merchant to come all this way, it must be a very unique animal.

Love Gone Missing


Region: Zweig Region
Location: Kyrdlund
In Kyrdlund, a girl named Nina asks about the whereabouts of a boy named Paul. He set off on a journey to become a great adventurer, leaving his lover Nina behind.

Weeding Out Mischief


Region: Zweig Region
Location: Sacrificial Cave
The Mayor of Kyrdlund asks Sarah to get rid of the monsters that settled in next to town. Sarah is shown the way to the cave where the monsters live, but the entrance is closed the instant Sarah steps in! The monster hunt was just a ruse to sacrifice Sarah in place of one of their own. The monsters that lurk within must be defeated in order to escape.

Eyes in the Dark

Location: Sacrificial Cave
In the deep end of the sacrificial cave is a mischief of rats! Eerie eyes of crimson spring towards Sarah in the dark.

Ending the Threat


Region: Zweig Region
Location: Sacrificial Cave
Sarah defeats the monsters that have settled in next to Kyrdlund. There is no reason to be locked in anymore.

Holy City of the West


Region: Lance Region
Location: Justerm
Sarah hears from an old man in the town of Justerm that the Matriarch's hometown of Lance is to the west.

Before Hunting Season


Region: Lance Region
Location: Justerm
In the town of Justerm, a man named Ward offers Sarah a job. It seems he wants to drive out the monsters in Arctic Lake before hunting season begins. Sarah accepts and heads to Arctic Lake with Ward.

Success at Ice Lake


Region: Lance Region
Location: Justerm
Sarah successfully completes Ward's job. This hunting season, Ward should have no trouble.

Delivery to Yarmouth


Region: Lance Region
Location: Lance
Sarah accepts a job from a man in Lance's weapons shop to deliver goods to Yarmouth. Bandits and monsters may appear along the way, so proceed with caution.

Eyes in the Dark


Region: Mt. Louv Region
Location: Yarmouth
Sarah completes the delivery as requested by the man at the weapons shop in Lance. It turned out to be worthwhile.

To Protect the Weak

Location: Yarmouth
In a private house in Yarmouth, Dophore henchmen try to evict a sick old woman and her daughter. Suddenly, a man in black who calls himself "Robin" appears and chases out the henchmen! Who is this Robin?

The Lonely Workshop


Region: Pidona Region
Location: Pidona
At the edge of Pidona's New Town, there is a workshop built by the famous smith who reforged the demonic spear of Abyss Lord Alloces into the Matriarch's spear. After the Matriarch closed all the gates, the spear was displayed at the shop. It became the most renowned workshop in the world for the following 300 years. However, in the midst of the struggle between Ludwig and Clemens, the Matriarch's spear was stolen, and the workshop has been plagued with misfortune ever since. The master blacksmith set off to look for the stolen spear, and traced its whereabouts to Pidona. Three days later, they found his dead body. All the smiths decided to leave the workshop, and now there are only two people left. The last two people were Nora, the master blacksmith's only daughter, and Cain, the young smith who talked about the workshop's history.

Quest for the Spear

Location: Pidona
As Cain finishes up his story, Nora returns. She wishes to avenge her father and look for the spear. Cain tries to talk her out of it, but Nora's heart is steel-clad and she wants to set off on her own. Deciding to help Nora, Sarah asks about any leads that could help them verify the authenticity of the stolen spear. Nora takes out a red coral earring, something her father left behind along with the word "Jackal." Sarah suggest that searching for it together would prove more effective than doing it alone. Nora agrees and decides to join Sarah.

Friends Welcome

Sarah tries to enter the mansion in the middle of Pidona's New Town, but is stopped by an elderly servant. However, his attitude changes when he finds out that Sarah knows Thomas. Thomas can be found inside.

An Urgent Errand


Region: Pidona Region
Location: Pidona
Thomas has an errand to run, so he cannot join Mikhail. He recommends walking around Pidona.

A Familiar Shadow

Sarah leaves the pub and sees Thomas. He seems to be heading west of town.

The Curious Errand

Location: Pidona
Sarah leaves the weapon shop and sees Thomas again. He seems to be heading to the western edge of town. What business could he possibly have there?

A Single Flower Blooms

Location: Pidona Old Town
Thomas was heading to an old house on the outskirts of Pidona's Old Town. His goal seems to be to meet the noblewoman that lives there.

Saving Gon


Region: Pidona Region
Location: Pidona Old Town
It seems a boy named "Gon," who Muse has befriended, wandered off to the Archfiend's Palace. Although in ruins now, monsters have settled in along with scavengers looking for the relics of the Archfiend, making it a dangerous place. It is a matter of life and death if Gon isn't found. With the aid of Charl, Sarah heads to the Archfiend's Palace in search of Gon.

A Brave Boy


Region: Pidona Region
Location: Archfiend Palace
Sarah finds the missing boy, Gon. It seems he was looking for his friend who he'd lost sight of playing hide-and-seek, but he ventured too far and couldn't find his way back. All that's left is to bring this brave boy back home safely.

A Safe Return


Region: Pidona Region
Location: Archfiend Palace
Along with Gon, Sarah manages to make their way out of the Archfiend's Palace without harm. Safe and sound, Muse and Charl, as well as the children, can breathe a sigh of relief.

'Dream Eater's Realm


Region: Pidona Region
Location: Pidona Old Town
Upon visiting Muse's home in Old Town, Sarah finds Muse in a state of eternal slumber under the spell of the Dream Eater. As Charl prepares to drink a magic potion to rescue Muse from within her dream, Sarah decides to accompany him.

Sought in Dreams


Region: Pidona Region
Location: Pidona Palace
Sarah and the party drink the magic potion, and successfully enter the Dream World. Muse should be somewhere in this realm, but there are no clues to her whereabouts. Is there any way to find information?

A False Father


Region: Pidona Region
Location: Pidona Palace
The ruler of the Dream World is none other than the Dream Eater, disguised as Muse's late father. The Dream Eater tries to trick Muse with dreams of happier times, but she declares that her father no longer exists, and boldly confronts him.

Potion's Origins


Region: Pidona Region
Location: Pidona Old Town
According to Gon, it seems that the person who gave him the potion was a kindly man with a red earring. This matches the description of Maximus, the leader of the Pidona branch of the Divine Order. But why would he target Muse?

To Reveal a Fiend


Region: Pidona Region
Location: Pidona
Maximus, the head of the Divine Order in Pidona, smiles like a saint. However, he is guilty of tricking Gon into making Muse drink the magic potion that traps her in a nightmare. Without proof, Sarah cannot expose the fraud. Could there be someone that knows who Maximus really is? The red coral earring that Maximus wears could be some sort of clue.

Scattered Abyss Gates

Johannes the astronomer and his sister, Anna, inform Sarah that the Abyss Gates are in the Archfiend's Palace in Pidona, the Fire Fortress in the Jungle, Mount Taftan, and the Undersea Palace. Will closing them bring peace to the world?

Sarah is reunited with Ellen in the town of Lance. It's a good idea to come here to recruit her.

At a warehouse in Yarmouth harbor, shady dealings are afoot. Inside, a man in black who calls himself "Robin" appears, and demands to know who sent the goods. The Dophore Group appears to be pulling the strings, but who is this Robin?

Lime Battles Injustice

In Yarmouth's town square, a young man named Lime makes his case to residents that Dophore is trading illegal goods. Dophore henchmen rush to the scene and threaten Lime with violence, but Masked Hero Robin swoops in and fights them off!

A Tale of Two Robins

Location: Yarmouth
Showered with gratitude from Lime and the townspeople, Robin attempts to make a flashy exit, but accidentally falls into a barrel below his feet. Unable to move, he is captured by the Dophore henchmen.

Truth About Dophore

Sarah vanquishes the hired goons! Hopefully, this puts a small dent into the Dophore Group's evildoings.

'Heroes' Hideaway


Region: Zweig Region
Location: Professor's Hall
At the warehouse in Yarmouth harbor, Sarah is able to meet Masked Hero Robin again. COme here anytime to recruit either of them.

The Professor

Sarah leaves the weapon shop and sees Thomas again. He seems to be heading to the western edge of town. What business could he possibly have there?

Sarah sets foot in Zweig and is hit by a runaway vehicle after a loud explosion! Who is in that car and where is it going?

Sarah hears about a prodigy that lives in a mansion in the forest west of Zweig.

Tournament in Zweig

Sarah hears about an elimination tournament hosed by the duke of Zweig where the winner will receive an extravagant prize.

Where's the Professor?

Sarah visits the Professor's mansion, but it is completely empty. There is faint sound coming from deep within, so she is probably somewhere inside.

Committing Auto-cide

Location: Westos Forest
The Professor is sulking in the basement because the duke of Zweig insists that the vehicle be destroyed because it cannot be controlled. The door at the far end leads to a prototype that will allow Sarah to catch the runaway vehicle.

Going Over the Cliff


Region: Zweig Region
Location: Westos Forest
The runaway vehicle, the Nacht Zweiger, starts smoking after its engine is destroyed and falls down the cliff. It will nto be causing trouble around neighboring towns anymore.
