Astel (アシュテール,Ashutēru?) is one of the Twelve Celestials in SaGa Scarlet Grace. She is the Celestial presiding over agriculture and allegedly one of the most revered deities across the world. Her teachings are mainly centered on the cultivation of the earth and the preservation and uses of fruits, grains and vegetables.[1]
Her unnamed holimont can be seen stationed in one of her convents located at Provincia Jusitania, guarding her nuns and also serving as a trial for earning her blessing. Oddly, her holimont appears to serve Kada as well, if taking in consideration its name when it's fought inside the Central Palace of Azhuacan.
Her constellation depicts a figure resembling a wheat plant and a cluster of grapes, and her elemental affinity is Natura.
Astel is depicted as a green-haired woman of pale skin. She's seen wearing a black-colored dress under a white robe and wearing a helmet. Her divinity symbol appears to be a sun-shaped emblem holding several golden fruits and grapes through a chain and plates.
Personality[]
Not much can be said from Astel's personality since she doesn't makes an appearance in-game, other than she might be a quite fastidious individual posing as a compassionate one, based on Taria's description of her powers and way of acting.
Etymology[]
Astel's name takes inspiration from the name of the Ancient Near Eastern deity Astarte, also known as Ashtart, who was closely related to another ancient goddess called Ishtar.

All Stories[]
According to Mirane, a nun of the Astel Convent of Provincia Jusitania, Astel gave a gift of grapes she had gathered from Provincia Jusitania to the Firebringer when he was banished. What manner of feelings could have she had for the fallen god, and what did she experience when the Firebringer was shattered? Nobody can really say for sure.
Taria's Story[]
Astel is mentioned by Taria during the pilgrimage in Marchiam Yaxart. She mentions that Astel's powers involve maximizing the fertility of the land in order to grant large harvests; yet by doing so, the lands end up barren, leaving all farmers to beg for her blessings. A method for gaining recognition and praise which she considers as quite ingenious, to which Kahn comments by saying her method almost makes her appear to be an Infernal instead of a Celestial.
Gameplay[]
