- "Adventuring's better than dealin' with some stuffy guard dispute; there's less thinkin' and a lot more fightin'!"
- —Initial Quote
Kahn (カーン Kān?) is a playable character in SaGa Scarlet Grace. He is the leader of the Killers―a band of mercenaries, and a wanderer in search of adventures. Kahn's adventures guide him to different spots depending on the current protagonist, but he plays a larger role in Taria's story acting as her companion.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Kahn is depicted as a fair-skinned man of spiky dark blue hair, somewhere in his 40's. His attire consists of a colorful bandana with a veil-like part, a black-colored piece of cloth wrapped around his neck, a black shirt, green-colored baggy pants, an orange furred coat and various pieces of armor.
Personality[]
Kahn is a carefree individual with a knack for fighting. He greatly cares for those that are close to him, but he is rather impulsive when it comes to making choices.
Story[]
Urpina's Story[]
Kahn is a knight of Elhuacan under the Grand Empress Dowager's rule. He is rallied to Urpina's side when she requests reinforcements from the Grand Empress Dowager. Upon joining her retinue, he has to reintroduce himself as he looks drastically different without his armor.
Ending - Killer Protector[]
Urpina's Story | Following the showdown with the Firebringer, Kahn was offered a position serving House Julanius, which he declined in favor of continuing on with the Killers. The Eastern Imperium may have disappeared from this world, but he continues to protect the Kingdom of Elhuacan from the shadows. |
Taria's Story[]
After seeing the Phoenix far away, Taria visits Schut for help and finds Kahn resting there. Kahn saw as well the flaming bird and thought of getting a feather to earn some quick cash, but Taria tells him that one needs to know how to properly handle a feather or else it vanishes. Kahn offers to help her in exchange for the earnings of the feather, and so he and the Killers join Taria in her pursuit of the Phoenix. After defeating the Phoenix, Kahn is surprised to see the so-called legendary bird was a weakling, but Taria notes that what they defeated was a nearly-dead Phoenix, meaning the bird had laid an egg somewhere in preparation for its revival. If a feather was already worth a lot, then an egg would earn him more than enough to retire; and so Kahn keeps adventuring with Taria until reaching the desired egg in the Southeast Boundary. Their joy is interrupted when the egg hatches and spawns the Phoenix's chick, who starts behaving aggresively. The battle ends with the Phoenix's chick amassing ignis energies and running away, leaving Kahn utterly devastated. Without an egg, Kahn simply leaves and returns to Termina, telling Taria to look for him if she ever wants help for another adventure.
- "SO this is the end, yeah? Fine, I'm pumped, but calm―which is the best way to fight!"
- —Final Quote
Taria's final adventure eventually guides Kahn to the ancient city of Ei-Hanum where a battle against the Firebringer takes place. After Taria emerges victorious and returns to Termina, Kahn visits her after some time. Kahn tells her if she wants to ever check how has the world been after the defeat of the Firebringer, but Taria appears to show no intention of leaving her workshop. Instead she asks Kahn if he has thought of settling down, but knowing of no one Kahn simply laughs and departs again.
Ending - Killer Wanderer[]
Taria's Story | Kahn continued adventuring even after the showdown with the Firebringer—perhaps because the Eastern Imperium collapsed and left him without a land he could call home. It is said his house is decorated with countless trophies and mementos found in ruins and caves all across the world. |
Leonard's Story[]
Kahn appears only after Taria's story was previously cleared. Just as in Balmaint's story, Kahn and the Killers appear in several locations of the world, with Kahn usually asking Leonard if he's seen one of them. Leonard usually comments on the name of Kahn's mercenary band, saying he finds the name rather dumb. If Victoria is present by the time an interaction with Kahn occurs, he will react surprised to seeing her away from Elhuacan, forcing himself into Leonard's group by orders of the old empress.
Ending - Killer Liberator[]
Leonard's Story | After the showdown with the Firebringer, the Killers focused their efforts on rounding up and disposing of Infernal and Celestial relics. Those who have seen the inside of Kahn's home claim he kept not a single memento of his adventures. |
Balmaint's Story[]
Kahn and the Killers appear wandering across the world, but only if Taria's story was previously completed. Kahn's interactions with Balmaint have him doubting about the nature of the executioner, eventually misguiding him to think that Balmaint was responsible for Sigfrei's constant resurrections.
Ending - Killer Seer[]
Balmaint's Story | After the showdown with the Firebringer, Kahn disappeared without a trace. Interestingly, the other members of the Killers went on keeping a close watch on the executioner of Castle Kohan—a vigil said to continue to this very day. |

Recruitment[]
Urpina's Story[]
After reaching Provincia Termina, Kahn can be recruited by defeating the Earth Golems around Elhuacan and then speaking with Victoria there and accepting to receive help from her.
Alternatively, Kahn can be recruited by finding him and the Killers five times across the world, but only after Taria's story was previously cleared.
Taria's Story[]
Kahn is recruited at the start after visiting Schut.
Other Stories[]
After clearing Taria's story and starting a new game with that save data, Kahn and the Killers will appear in various locations over the world. Kahn will join after interacting with him and the Killers five times.
Performance[]
Kahn is a capable character able to perform all sorts of roles just like any other protagonist's companion, despite his middling stats. His passable stats of strength and endurance are well suited for protective roles, so his default spear is a rather adequate weapon for him.
Other Appearances[]
Imperial SaGa and Imperial SaGa: Eclipse[]
Khan appears as an obtainable character.
Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe[]
Kahn appears as an event-limited S style, and also as an SS limited style added during an event commemorating the Lunar New Year of 2022.
He also appears during Liam's story mode when Clavis sends Liam to a Door that connects to the world of SaGa Scarlet Grace.

Trivia[]
